iceland westfjords coast akureyri

We first started our international experience in August, 2017 on our honeymoon.

While planning our wedding, we were torn when discussing where to go and what to do for our honeymoon. After some discussion we both decided to say at the same time what our top travel destination would be, and surprisingly, it was unanimously Iceland!

Iceland’s natural beauty has always been something that intrigued us both. From the picturesque waterfalls, to the bold and daunting glaciers, there is something magical about this exciting island.

Despite it being our honeymoon, it was anything but pampered. Wanting to see the reality of the country, and experience the true beauty of Iceland, we choose to explore. From horseback riding, to glacier climbing, hiking the mysterious Westfjords, to traversing the windy, awe inspiring black sand beaches of the south coast, every day was packed with adventure and sore muscles!

Once our eyes were opened to the wonders of Iceland our thirst for more became insatiable! There was no end of places to go, and things to do. We knew we would never have enough time to see it all, and that we’d have to come back to try. We also learned that there was so much else in the world for us to see.

Although it’s not always easy, ultimately we are always able to agree on one thing: Don’t let the adventure end! If you are curious about how to start your own adventure or just want to follow along, you have come to the right place!
